Figures often carry an argument more directly than prose. This small template treats a plot as a first-class part of a post: it can unfold over time, retain a compact caption, and still expose the values behind every mark.

Mean outcome by iteration. Points show mean ± standard deviation.

Other scientific figure types

The same figure shell also supports relationships, estimates with uncertainty, and matrix-valued results.

data scaleperformance
Relationship between two quantities. Points show observations; the dashed line summarizes the trend.
baseline Model AModel BModel CModel D effect relative to baseline
Estimates with uncertainty. Point estimates are paired with 95% confidence intervals and a fixed baseline.
SmallMediumLargeXL Dataset ADataset BDataset CDataset D model size
Matrix-valued results. Color intensity shows performance across datasets and model sizes.
755025 ABCD experimental conditionscore
Comparison across conditions. Bars show means and whiskers show one standard deviation.

What this template is for

Future posts can swap in real data and labels while keeping the slow reveal and point-level inspection. The surrounding structure is intentionally neutral enough for a technical note, an unfinished idea, or something entirely unrelated to research.
